A Few Words About Swinging
Join Uniform Swingers NOW!
Swinging is a very popular pastime in most civilised countries. It is also a very fast growing scene, with the number of people involved in the swinging scene increasing at about 1% per year.
Professional research carried out in 2005 suggests that a quarter of the adult population of the UK are now involved in swinging! Swinging in other countries is almost certain to be of similar or greater proportions. Factors such as use of internet contact sites and swingers clubs suggest that most European and American countries have an even larger percentage of swingers than the UK. Per head of population there are more swinger clubs in every major European country and in the USA and Canada. There are also more people registered on swingers sites per head of population than in the UK.
No one knows exactly when swinging started, it has been around for many centuries in different guises: The romans and Greeks used to indulge in orgies; The upper classes in the European cities used to have masked balls where partner swapping was often an activity; Military bases in the Europeans Empires were often very busy with wives left behind while their husbands were on a tour of duty being consoled by the young soldiers left on base. The American air force bases in the 1950's are often credited with being the most likely source of the name "swingers".
Swinging is the current term used to describe the partner swapping scene. Other terms used are "The Lifestyle" in the USA; Partner or wife swapping in the UK, this is falling into disuse but was the most common label applied in the 1960's and 70's; "Sharers" is used by some people, to address the fact that in swining both partners are equal and sharing the swinging experience.
In most countries it is completely legal, but people in countries with laws based on Islamic rules find it very difficult, if not dangerous, to get involved.
In Europe, the USA and Australasia there are no legal impediments to people indulging in the swinging lifestyle. However you should take care who you tell, as some employers have clauses in their employment contracts which make it a dismissable offence to have sex with other emplopyees, or employees of other ranks, or being involved in an activity likely to cause offence.
Our advice is to take care when meeting other people, never use your real name until you are sure you are not being involved in a sting.
A common misconception is that swingers have sex with anyone. Except for a few events such as dogging or an orgy, the majority of swingers only have sex with people they find attractive. Do not think that by attending a swingers party you will be expected or allowed to have sex with any and everyone, unless the event is billed as a free for all or orgy, you will only be expected to interact with people who you find attractive and who find you attractive. At every swinging event everyone has the right to say "NO" at any time to anybody.
There are many sub groups of swinging, some of which "purists" discard as not being genuine swinging, however, as a discriminated group, most of us do not discriminate against others with different tastes to our own.
Swinging Includes (but is not limited to):
- Partner Swapping - Pure swinging where 2 couples swap partners for a session of fun.
- Swingers Parties - Where groups of swingers, both couples and singles, meet and swap in many different combinations.
- Greedy Girls - These are ladies with a high sex drive who enjoy the attention of multiple partners.
- Threesomes - Where a couple will bring either a single male or single female into their relationship for added fun.
- Dogging - Car Park Sex, where people meet in various outdoor location for sex with complete strangers.
- Soft Swinging - Where people will have sex with their own partners while being watched by other people.
- Swinging Exhibitionists - Couples or sometimes single who like to show off their bodies, or to let people watch while they have sex.
- Cuckolding - Where a mans partner (called a Hot Wife) will have sex with other men, sometimes at a different location, sometimes making the man watch.
Swingers we have met over the years have come from every walk of life. Judges and politicians, Priests, Teachers and Headmasters, Financiers, Air Crew, Diplomats, TV personalities, Sportsmen and women, dustmen, plumbers, electricians, military personnel, Newspaper reporters and editors, newspaper owners. Basically everyone is represented, from across every profession and every race and every religion, from 18 through to people in their 80's.
Most swingers do not discriminate against others on grounds of age, color, religion or class. However everyone has the right to choose who they do or do not play with, as if there is no attraction there will be no enjoyment.
Since we started running swingers sites in 1997 we have seen the numbers increasing rapidly throughout Europe, America and Australia. Since 2010 we have also seen a steady increase in numbers from the Indian sub continent and Pacific ring countries. 2011 saw a big surge in swingers coming online from countries such as Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia as access to the internet was opened up and censorship lifted.
In the UK, 2011 was a good year for swingers, as the newspaper that used to work hardest to expose swingers (even though several of their senior staff were swingers themselves), The News of the World, was closed by its owners after the paper was exposed for many illegal activities.
